Further to previous threads, I have come to the conclusion that resetting airbag warning lights and reading codes is not something I want to be fleeced by Volvo for, so I want to get an OBDII reader - but which one? I need to be able to reset the Airbag Warning Light, which I believe is something not all of them can do. Also would like to be able to retrieve codes, reset them etc... Any advice from people who have one, where you got it and what it cost! Thanks in advance!

Hi, Air bag modules are not OBD2 Compatible so there is no scanner that can take out Air bag codes. You need a other interface for that. There is a nice inexpensive scanner out there, check it out: It is obd2 and CAN compatible. It does not read Air bag codes. Intravino

The best thing to do is ask the manufacturer and get their assurance that it will work with your car. That way if it doesn't, you can return it. I know of people who have been caught out buying a generic OBD2 scanner for "all cars post 1996", which has turned out not to work with their specific ECU and have been unable to send them back.
