When I switch the ignition on there is a constant buzzing sound, it comes from a pipe leading into a gadget in the middle of the top of the engine just under the aluminium injector cover (or at least using a stethoscope suggests this). Previous car it buzzed for a few seconds then went off, this one just keeps going on and one. What should it do? Thanks

Would help to say what year, model, and engine type you have.

It may be your idle motor. Do you have a black plastic cover sitting over and just forward of your throttle body (at the nearside end of the fuel rail)? If so, the buzzing will probably be coming from under there. If the noise is loud it can be a sign of the motor failing.

It's definitely under the fuel rail is it? Couldn't be the IACV under the plastic cover over the throttle area?
